Spring Meeting of the Insulation Sheet Metal Workers' Union Branch 155
The Insulation Sheet Metal Workers' Union will hold its spring meeting on April 12, 2025, Saturday, in OULU at the Scandic Oulu City Hotel (Saaristonkatu 4, 90100 Oulu) at 3:00 PM. During the meeting, we will provide training on the topic "Info on Sheet Metal Sector Collective Agreement and Strikes in the Industrial Union."
The union will provide a meal and reimburse travel expenses based on the cheapest public transport according to the Industrial Union's guidelines. For members living closer to the meeting place (within 140 km), travel expenses for using a personal car will be reimbursed according to the union's guidelines. To qualify for travel reimbursement, participation in the training session is required. The union will not reimburse accommodation costs.

Fall Meeting of the Insulation Sheet Metal Workers' Union Branch 155
The fall meeting will be held on November 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Sokos Hotel Lahti Seurahuone (Aleksanterinkatu 14, 15110 Lahti). The agenda includes all regular matters. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the Industrial Union's guidelines. A meal will also be provided. Welcome!

Union Representative Training Package
One-day in-person training sessions (6 hours) are organized by the local union branches in your area.
Southern Karelia's training event will take place on September 14, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Holiday Club Saimaa, Rauhanrinne 1, 55320 Rauha. During the training day, topics including local agreements and advocacy will be covered. The event will conclude with a fun bowling session.

We invite you to join us for a "Family Day" at Linnanmäki Amusement Park. Our union is organizing a family day for members and their children under 18 on June 8, 2024, starting at 12:30 PM. Members can purchase wristbands for €25 each, with a maximum of 5 wristbands per household. A limited number of wristbands are available. If the event date doesn't suit you, or if you want to use the wristband on another day during the summer, it's still valid. The union does not reimburse travel expenses for this event.

Welcome to the spring meeting of the Insulation Sheet Metal Workers' Union Branch 155 on April 20, 2024, at Hotel Torni in Tampere, at 12:00 PM. The meeting will cover all statutory matters. Travel expenses will be reimbursed based on general travel guidelines. WELCOME!
Invitation to Insulation Sheet Metal Workers' Union Branch 155 60th Anniversary Celebration
The celebration will take place on the Tallink Victoria 1 ship during a 22-hour cruise on May 25-26, 2024.
We have reserved 2-hour cabins for our group. The ship departs from Helsinki West Terminal 2 on May 25 at 6:35 PM, but it's recommended to arrive earlier since dinner starts at 6:00 PM. Boarding begins at 5:45 PM, and Jukka Lehtinen will distribute boarding passes in the terminal's lower hall beforehand. Return is on May 26 at 4:00 PM.
Please confirm your participation by March 25, 2024. Register with Jukka Lehtinen by phone (0505957837) or email (juklester@gmail.com). Include your name and date of birth. If you have a cabin companion preference, you can also mention that. There are limited spaces, so be quick.
Travel expenses for a round-trip regular-priced train (or bus) ticket will be reimbursed if ordered and paid by March 25. The invitation includes a plus one, with their travel also reimbursed.
On the ship, dinner will be served on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We've also reserved a meeting room on the ship (from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM) where stand-up comedian PANU KÄRRI will perform. We will also toast the union. And, of course, we warmly welcome all congratulations.

There is a strong reason to gather and defend the rights of workers and the disadvantaged. The Orpo-Purra government is planning unprecedented austerity measures affecting regular workers and Finnish citizens who rely on social security. The government's target includes strike rights, sick pay, dismissal protection, universal application of agreements, as well as basic and earnings-related social security.
For this reason, the Industrial Union is organizing an information session for union representatives regarding the government's planned work-life cuts. The session will explain and discuss the potential impacts of these measures on workers, and why the labor movement is raising its voice. The session will also clarify the mentioned organizational actions that have been discussed in the media.
Insulation Sheet Metal Workers' Union Branch 155 is organizing a #weightyreason event at Hotel Vaakuna, Kouvola, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, starting at 5:30 PM. Duration: approx. 2 hours. A meal and coffee will be provided. A bus transfer may be arranged if possible.

The Branch 155 Board held a meeting on September 9, 2023, at Hotel Torni in Tampere. We discussed current matters and scheduled extraordinary meetings regarding rule changes and board completion (candidate nomination). Further details will be provided later.

Branch 155 is organizing a fall trip to Prague from October 12-14, 2023. There are 28 spots available, filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for members is €200 (self-payment).
A companion can be included for €595, unless they are a member of Branch 155.
If there are more than 20 participants, we will try to obtain a few extra spots from the travel agency.
